Sex, to the 2nd Power

So, finishing what I started.

I think God/fate/dumb luck, whatever you want to call it is trying to tell me something.  You know that face I make when I talk about working for the VA hospitals for the veterans with PTSD?  Totally faking it.  While it is honorable, and something that I think I would be good at, it’s not what I want to do.  I think the universe is trying to keep me from making a huge mistake. (Insert Arrested Development face pan-in here.)

So far I have been rejected by 2 universities I applied to, one in Oregon and one in northern Wisconsin.  I didn’t want to go to that one anyways, they get more snow than we do, and I don’t think I could handle that.  But Oregon!  That was soul crushing!  But, what if I don’t get into the school in Madison?  What will I do?  This was the only school I applied to last year, and made it as far as an interview, and a 2nd alterI don’t think I can spend a whole ‘nother year away from school.  Let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger and I dearly, dearly want to start in a private practice somewhere and not feel like such a worthless peon in a building chock full of worthless peons.

To remedy this, I am going to start applying to schools around the country that offer a Sex Therapy program, instead of the run-of-the-mill MFT that I originally was looking at.  Why settle when I can try and do what I really want to do (at this point) which is talk to couples having intimacy issues?

Does anyone know where I can go (short of the Kinsey Institute, I already looked into it) that I could go for sex therapy?  I am open to all suggestions.

  1. Hmmm . . . settle for run of the mill in Madison. If Andrew’s job interview goes well then we’ll be living down there too. Then we could be Madison friends! Seriously though, I know of no sex therapy based program for schooling.
